Picture this pg. 94

The first place that comes to mind that I know and like is Block Island.  My family and I have vacationed there many times in my life, almost like a yearly ritual.  We travel there about twice a year on my boat and stay there for 2-3 nights depending what the weather entails.  As we enter the harbor after a 2 hour boat ride, it is quite a relief knowing that we are finally here.  it is about a 20 minute ride through the harbor and right when we slow down we contact the harbor master about what slip we should dock the boat.  Once we are finally squeezed into one of the 200 possible slips, we wash and tidy up the boat.  From the marina there is constant 24 hour taxi service and we have access to all parts of the small island.  There is many restaurants, cafe and shops to explore downtown and long beaches and cliffs to wander around on the outskirts of the island.  The school system has about 100 students k-12 therefore this island basically is a tourist trap, prices are very high and the food is mediocre.

The Island is buzzing with constant day and night life rain or shine.  Block Island employs college students from around the country and world every summer for 3 months.  There is about 7 marinas there which are constantly over packed with boats.  It is very fun because everyone is very friendly and everyone is looking for a good time on the water with their friends.

Focus pg. 92

From the 25 images here are the groups I would classify them under:

-United military

-Coed soldiers

-War is a good thing

Each magazine depicts the American flag in different ways but they are all positive.  On the cover of Time it shows a flag waving high and proud above an American town.  In this collection of covers there are 6 other covers depicting this (Screen Guide, Fortune, Shadow, House and Garden, Our Army, and Field and Stream).  The other covers are pictures of beautiful women and men looking up to or holding the flag in pride of being an American.

Snapshop

Snapshop

This is a photo of my parents and me at my 8th grade graduation. From this photo you can tell that this is a special event because I am dressed up and smiling with my parents. Someone looking at this photo can probably tell that it is at a school and it’s a semiformal event. I feel that it would take a decent amount of explaining to describe the image without showing somebody the photo. To come up with a caption for this picture of my family and me we can start with; Jonathan Palmer at his 8th graduation with his parents. I feel like it is inappropriate to give more detail then that when applying a caption to this picture if you are physically seeing the picture and the caption.
